Debbie Behan Garrett, a black-doll enthusiast, is the author of two full-color black-doll references: The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls, Hobby House Press, Inc., 2003; and Black Dolls: A Comprehensive Guide to Celebrating, Collecting, and Experiencing the Passion, a 2008 self-publication. Ms. Garrett cofounded The Black Doll-E-Zine, the first and only e-zine, (now a Yahoo! Group), devoted to collecting black dolls. She is the founder and moderator of the WeLoveBlackDolls Yahoo! Group. As a member at-large of the United Federation of Doll Clubs, Ms. Garrett has contributed to its Doll News quarterly publication, is a contributing writer to other doll magazine, as well. As a blogger for DOLLS, Ms. Garrett endeavors to continue documenting the historical and present-day significance of black dolls. A native Texan and married mother of two adult children, Ms. Garrett is also a doting granny of two precocious boys.
