I’m thrilled that Carie asked me to do a blog about the Madame Alexander Doll Club. It’s always a delight to talk about something you love. I’m thrilled that Carie asked me to do a blog about the Madame Alexander Doll Club. It’s always a delight to talk about something you love. For those of you who are not familiar with MADC, it is an organization that was sanctioned by the Alexander Doll Company in 1961 under the leadership of President Margaret Winson of Missouri. It started out as a correspondence club and remained that way until 1982 when Mrs. Winson retired. Officers were then elected and by 1985, by-laws were ratified by the membership and the club was incorporated. The purpose of MADC is to study, research, discuss and write about Madame Alexander dolls, to collect and preserve them and to conduct any and all activities that will promote the collection of these dolls. The Club works very closely with the Alexander Doll Company and hosts several annual events as well as publishing a newsletter four times a year, offering an exclusive club doll, and providing a delightful, informative website. |
