After introducing her first vinyl collection 22 years ago in 1986, legendary dollmaker Annette Himstedt has made the decision to cease production. The combination of using increasingly higher quality materials through the years, resulting in increased production costs, and the downturn in the economy, are key factors in Himstedt’s decision.

With her latest dolls, Annette Himstedt’s imagination travels far and wide.
The 2003 Himstedt line bears a resemblance to past offerings, but it is a fuller, richer, more personal gathering of porcelain and vinyl charmers. Doll artist Annette Himstedt was determined to shepherd her company into a new arena, anxious to have her creations priced affordably and to have more designs for her dedicated collectors and followers to choose from.

How does Annette Himstedt’s 2002 collection grow? With bows and braids and pretty maids all in a row, of course!
Sometimes, planning ahead involves a bit of looking back, and that’s exactly what artist Annette Himstedt has been up to. All throughout the creation of her newest collection for 2002, the German dollmaker had visions of her very first works dancing in her head. “I turned my attention back to my early dolls, which had a very special charm that I lost sight of for a while,” admits the artist.
