So I am wondering - after your pondering on the matter of collecting....did you retrieve her "collection"?? and help her find a safe way to keep it?? My sister once mailed all of her "collections" of things to my grandmother when my mom had a serious fit and said if she did not clear out her room she was going to throw the things out! It is the family joke now when we have messes :)

I believe that all you have to do to be a collector is to "collect" and the definition to that is up to the beholder - that is a personal matter! So I would not trade in your "card carrying collector status" just yet! - Christi Olsen

Dolls are meant to be seen, but not touched when they are being collected. It's sad that yours aren't being seen now and they're not being touched, either. You have the worst of both worlds! I hope your house is done soon and your dolls can be put on their shelves again. - Marley

Stephanie I LOVE reading your blog! It has become one of those good ways of marking a week gone by and it cheers me and makes me both think as well as chuckle each and every time. Keep it up. As for the question? I am in the antiques business and trust me, not all collections are in view, on purpose! - darlene

It's hard to always have your collection in good standing. Sometimes things can get carted away or packed away. Even when I am not buying dolls for a while because of finances, I never lose my interest. I love to collect dolls. I don't organize too well though.:'( - Bette P
