On May 6-7, 2012, renowned designer Guo Pei presented her "Legend of The Dragon" fashion show and "Chinese Bride Couture Exhibition" in Beijing. The collection was primarily meant to showcase exquisite wedding gowns for Chinese brides, which took a team of hundreds of embroiders and seamstresses three years to make the entire collection. One dress showcased at the show came embellished in 465,756 pearls and took over 8,000 hours of hand-sewing to complete.
The "Flying Dragon" doll Guo designed for JAMIEshow is inspired by the "Flying Dragon" design in her "Legend of the Dragon" show. The doll features a new sculpt—"Ling Lan," a model right from the runway of Guo Pei's world. She wears an elaborate head cap crowned with a fully beaded tiara. Lavish glass drop beading frames her delicate face. Light blue eyeshadow over lovely hazel eyes and a soft pink lip finish her face. The gown is as opulent as the original with layer upon layer of silk tulle.
Flying laser-cut golden dragons flank her upper torso and her bodice, which is completely hand-beaded in Guo Pei's studios. This is the first doll to have her dress completely handmade by Guo Pei's studio, and each dress will actually be a piece of true haute couture in every sense of the word. On her hand, she wears a dragon jewelry piece in gold with dangling beads. Her shoes are made of clear crystal and resemble two dragons.
"Ling Lan" has 19 points of articulation and is made out of fine J-Resin (a trademark resin owned by JAMIEshow), which is hypoallergenic and nontoxic. It has a unique opalescent quality and is the finest resin made. Ling Lan's head cap is interchangeable, and she can wear any of the other wig caps offered in the JAMIEshow line. She also comes with a full plate head cap to allow her to wear size 5 wigs.
"Ling Lan" features a new generation body with new hands. The hands can be put on and taken off by simply snapping them on to the wrist, eliminating the need to hook the hands on the stringing of the doll. This is a unique innovation exclusive to JAMIEshow.
